Gailey's ton up


REDDITCH CC continued their excellent recent form when they returned from bogey side Worcester Nomads with an 83 run victory in their latest Crusader Worcestershire league Division one game.

Redditch batted first and scored 265 for 7 with skipper Adam Gailey leading the way with 117 well supported by Dan Friedrich with 84.

Nomads were never really in the hunt against a Redditch bowling attack who have bowled well all year.

They were finally dismissed for 182 with Dan Friedrich being the pick of the bowlers with 5-44.

This result follows on from the excellent win last week at Worcester CC and continues Redditch’s recent goof form, moving them above Nomads into seventh place in the table at the half way point of the season.

Sunday

Redditch won by 20 runs in a tight Sunday league game at Bretforton.

On a tricky wicket Redditch managed to score 194 for 9 with Tom Phelan top scoring with 40.

In reply Bretforton seemed to be set to claim victory on 169 for 6 but lost their last four wickets for five runs to be all out for 174 despite Redditch dropping three catches.

Steve Rose, on his return to Redditch colours, bowled well to claim two of the last four wickets.

Dan Friedrich with three wickets and Perry Derrick with two wickets also bowled well.

Second team:

Redditch lost their latest Crusader Worcestershire League game by seven wickets at home to Worcester.

Batting first, Redditch scored 222 all out with Yasser Altaf 50, Will Hadley 49 and Zed Ahmed 48 leading the way.

Despite taking two early wickets, Nomads ran out easy winners.

Sunday

The second team did not have a game on Sunday The third team’s game at Water Orton was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

Alcester and Ragley (179-7) beat Warwickshire County Council staff (175 all out) by 3 wickets
