County swimmers land medal haul

THERE was a haul of 13 medals when 18 members of Redditch Swimming Club took part in the county's sprint galas.

First off were the 12 and under age groups where 11 year olds Lydia May (breast) and Sophie Bridgman (butterfly) took gold medals. There was a silver for 12 year old Elizabeth Humphreys in freestyle and backstroke.

Leading medal winner in the Youth and Masters sprints was Laura Cranshaw in the 19/24 age range after she won gold in freestyle and breaststroke and silver in backstroke, butterfly and individual medley.

Club Captain Paul Wilkes took gold in the freestyle and butterfly and silver in breaststroke in the 19/24 age group. Jess Nice, aged 15, completed the medals with bronze in the backstroke.
