NEW Ravens felt the heat in their home clash with Leamington Royals by conceding a succession of first half tries.

Ravens, playing with a man short and no substitutes, made several promising attacks but errors handed possession to the visitors who took full advantage to score.

In blistering temperatures Ravens finally registered their first points following a compulsory water break.

The hosts applied more pressure and Liam Dunne scoured an unconverted try to make the half time score NEW Ravens 4 - 28 Royals.

Ravens continued to battle in the second half, winger Tom Jones sprinted in for a try when the ball went wide.

More points followed for Ravens with a try from Sam Lowe but their lack of resources and the hot weather began to take its toll.

Royals added points to take the game away from Ravens before a succession of penalties put the hosts in a good position.

David Pearson collected a try for Ravens which was successfully converted by Dave Swaysland.

The final score was Ravens 22 - 52 Royals, next Saturday Ravens travel to Birmingham Bulldogs for a 2.30pm kick off.
