MATTI Williams has earned a one-year contract extension and academy duo Justin Clegg and Zac Xiourouppa have been promoted to the first-team as Worcester Warriors announce their squad for next season.

The versatile Williams who can play at hooker or flanker made just 14 appearances for Warriors, with 12 of them coming from the bench, since arriving from Northampton Saints in the summer of 2016.

But director of rugby Alan Solomons decided to offer the 26-year-old a new deal as he looks to add strength in depth.

Lock Clegg, 21, and back rower Xiourouppa, 20, will also step up to the senior side and will look for opportunities in the 2018-19 Premiership campaign.

Solomons said: “I’m very happy with the shape of our squad.

"We have plenty of strength in depth and I’m genuinely excited about next season.

“A big work-on for us is our consistency.

"The team has shown on a number of occasions that we can compete with the best in the league but now we must seek to do that on a regular basis as we look to try and drive up the Premiership table.”
