STUDLEY expect to have a manager back in place this week after previous boss Vaughan Pearshouse stepped down last Friday.

Club coach Matt Dorgan took charge for Studley's final league game of the season last Friday night which resulted in a 1-1 draw with Chelmsley Town.

Richard Learnihan put Chelmsley in front but Studley hit back to level through Andy Nicol.

The result means Studley finish their Midland League Division One campaign in ninth place and spokesman Bob Fletcher said: "We'll have to see whether that is good enough to get us into next season's FA Cup competition.

"We've been told so many different things concerning entry to the FA Cup. At one point we were told top eight, then it became top six, but in truth we don't really know.

"We apply to play in the FA Cup every year, but we haven't been accepted for the past three.

"Whatever happens, it's been a good season because we've moved forward as a club after fighting relegation last season."

Fletcher confirmed Studley would be interviewing a candidate for the vacant manager's job this week, but also revealed that previous boss Pearshouse was still in the picture.

Fletcher added: "Since last Friday, there has been some conversation with Vaughan, but I can't say anymore than that at the moment.

"Whatever happens, the club are keen to have someone in place, certainly by the end of the week."
