BROMSGROVE brought the curtain down on their Midland One West campaign with a 26-17 defeat at Worcester Wanderers.
It means Bromsgrove finish the season in third place behind Burton and Dudley Kingswinford.
Bromsgrove head coach Dan Protherough said: "We played well at Worcester and it wasn't for lack of effort that we lost.
"I have to take my hat off to Worcester who defended heroically at times, especially in the second half .
"We had all the ball in a 25 minute period but just couldn't get across the white line.
"It wasn't like the defeat to Sutton Coldfield because everyone put a shift in. We were workmanlike but were missing a number of key players and lacked that little bit of sparkle as a result".
Bromsgrove scored tries through wingers Josh Holt, Matt Shepherd and No.8 Tom Hardwick while scrum-half Richard Mahoney slotted over one conversion.
Bromsgrove will take a short break but will be back up and running in time for the North Midlands Cup Final when they face National League 3 Midlands side Newport Shropshire on Sunday May 13 at Dudley Kingswinford's ground.
