NON-stop Studley continued their relentless programme of 11 games in 24 days with a mixed bag of results this week in Midland League One.

They were crushed 6-0 by top of the table Walsall Wood but then followed up with a 3-1 win at Coventry Copsewood and then followed that with a 3-3 draw against Uttoxeter Town last Saturday.

Manager Vaughan Pearshouse admitted: "We were dreadful in the first half against Uttoxeter and went 3-0 down by half time. You could tell that the amount of games being played was beginning to take its toll and that some of the players were running on empty.

"We had to have a word with them at half time and the players were brilliant in the second half, in fact we could have nicked it in the end".

Lewis Clarke cracked home a couple of goals while Andy Nicol netted from the penalty spot.

Nicol was also on the mark against Copsewood as Studley came from a goal down at half time to seal victory with Matt Powell and Danny Ludlow also proving on target.

But Pearshouse offered no excuses against Walsall Wood, he said: "They are the best side in the league and are head and shoulders better than anyone else.

"We haven't given up of getting eighth place. For the moment, we'll keep plodding on."

Studley entertain Coventry Alvis this Thursday and then travel to Boleshill Swifts on Saturday as the games keep on coming.
