FAIRFIELD Villa followers are giving thanks for the cup competitions that are keeping their season alive at the moment.

Villa have already booked their place in the Worcestershire Junior Cup Final against local rivals Droitwich Spa on May 12.

Busy Villa are also involved in the Les James Cup semi-final against high-flying Midland League Division three side Boldmere Sports and Social.

And Villa also have a local derby with Feckenham to look forward to in the Evesham Hospital Cup quarter finals.

Spokesman Paul Oakes said: "It's the cup competitions that are keeping everyone focused. Without them, I could have easily seen people starting to lose interest.

"But the spirit that Wayne Davies and Lee Williams have installed within the squad is outstanding at the moment.

"We still have a minimum of 15 games to play at the moment and that could rise to 17 depending how we perform in the cups."

Villa are keeping their fingers crossed that Saturday's proposed trip to the Meitis where they face Redditch Borough in a Midland League Division Two contest beats the weather to go ahead.
