WORCESTER Warriors have been dealt a triple injury blow with Pierce Phillips, Perry Humphreys and Michael Dowsett set for long spells on the sidelines.

Wing Humphreys has sustained medial collateral ligament damage and now faces between six to 10 weeks on the treatment table.

Lock Phillips is expected to be out for the same length of time after injuring his ankle while scrum-half Dowsett is not due back for between three and four weeks with a hand problem.

The news of their injuries compounds Warriors’ misery after they were dumped out of the European Challenge Cup last Saturday following a 33-7 defeat at Brive.

The three players were all forced off in the final Pool Five clash at the Stade Alexandre Cueille as Warriors struggled in the muddy conditions.

With Dowsett out and Jonny Arr (concussion) not expected to return until next month, it leaves Warriors with two fit scrum-halves in Francois Hougaard and Luke Baldwin.

Phillips’ injury could open up the door for second row Anton Bresler who has yet to make a first-team appearance since joining Worcester from Edinburgh last month.

Warriors take on Exeter Chiefs in Anglo-Welsh Cup at Sixways on Saturday (3pm).
