BOSS Darren Byfield says he'll make changes to Redditch United's formation as he looks to recapture his side's goalscoring exploits.

Reds drew a blank on the road when losing 1-0 to Tiverton last Saturday to again lose ground on the league's pacesetters.

Byfield was pleased with the performance but admits a reshuffle is needed after his team have netted just twice in the last five league games.

He said: "I really can't hammer the boys because they were superb once again.

"The ball just isn't going in for us at the moment.

"We haven't changed anything from earlier in the season, if anything we're playing better and are not getting bullied by anyone.

"I have to do more now. Yes the goals aren't being shared around but I need to change things. I can't keep waiting.

"I will be looking at the formation and working on getting more support to our strikers.

"It may just take a different formation for us to get the balance right. If I change that then I will also look at getting a few different personnel in as well."

Byfield already boosted his options with the arrival of attacking midfield Joe Thomas on-loan from Stafford.

Reds will look to rediscover their goalscoring form when they go to Royston this Saturday.

"We have to use Saturday's frustration as motivation," added the manager. "We need to nip it in the bud because we can't let those teams above us get away.

"We have aspirations of making sure we're in that pack."
