Redditch United 9 - 1 Bishops Cleeve

Redditch romped into the second round of the Bigfreebet.com League Cup with a resounding victory over their Cotswold visitors.

Strike pair Dior Angus and Spencer Weir-Daley bagged two goals apiece but it was a tricky start with the visitors opening the scoring after just seven minutes when Joe Bates lobbed the keeper from 35 yards.

Weir-Daley levelled on 14 minutes with Angus scoring from the spot seven minutes later after he had been brought down inside the area.

Three goals in six minutes then put the Reds in total control. Andi Thanoj made it 3-1 on 31 minutes with Angus adding the fourth and Orrin Pendley heading in the fifth from a Thanoj corner.

There was to be no let-up after the break as Pauly Apostolopoulos fired in following good work by half time substitute Zaqib Hussain.

Weir-Daley scored his second just after the hour, neatly lifting the ball past his marker.

Defender Gui Mailancol then made it 8-1 with 20 minutes to go.

It was left to defender Lewis Wright to complete the scoring ten minutes from time when he drilled a shot beyond Cleeve keeper Lewis Clayton.
