FECKENHAM failed to find their killer instinct in front of goal and finished up losing 3-2 at home to Northfield Town in Midland League Division Two.
With several key players still missing, Feckenham promoted 18-year-old full back Will Langston from the reserves in their starting line-up but it was Northfield who started the better side.
Northfield soon took the lead with a curling shot that went beyond the reach of Feckenham goalkeeper Josh Goddard.
Feckenham fought back to level from a long Jake Donnelly throw which resulted in a goalmouth scramble where Danny Murphy was first to react and score.
But Northfield were back in front before half time when former Feckenham player Adam Garmson converted a well drilled cross.
Jack Brimmell fired a goalbound shot which squirmed the wrong side of the post in the second half as the Millers pressed for another goal.
They were finally rewarded when Connor Perry-Holmes found himself with time and space to slot home from close range.
Further efforts from Perry-Holmes, Welsh and Jordan Adams all failed to find the tartget and it was against the run of play when Northfield netted after capitalising on a defensive lapse.
Both sides were reduced to ten men on 72 minutes, Perry-Holmes being dismissed for a second yellow card while Northfield were issued with a straight red.
It's non-league day at The Entaco this Saturday when Feckenham face GNP Sports FC in the Les James Challenge Cup. (3pm).
