ALCESTER Town stretched their unbeaten run to five games following an excellent 3-1 win at Birmingham Tigers in Midland League Division Three.

Jimmy Ward squandered a couple of early chances before setting up Will Beach to net the opening goal.

Goalkeeper Jack Turner then pulled off a wonderful save to keep the Tigers at bay before Alcester increased their lead, this time Beach turned provider, supplying the chance for Ward to wallop home his eighth goal of the season.

Tigers pulled a goal back early in the second half and Alcester were forced to stand firm before finally killing the game off when Lewis Marston put Beach clean through on goal, before rounding the goalkeeper to slot home.

Delighted Alcester manager Danny Janes admitted: "It wasn't our best performance, but I felt we played some good football in difficult conditions."

Alcester Town entertain Continental Star this Saturday at Stratford Road.
