TOP of the table Studley were left hanging on for dear life as they held out for a 2-2 draw against Heather St Johns in Midland League Division One.
That was after league leaders Studley had built a 2-0 lead by half time thanks to goals from Lewis Clarke, who headed home the opener while Josh Westwood walloped in the second when netting with a 35 yard screamer.
Studley spokesman Bob Fletcher said: "In the first half, we took our chances, while Heather St Johns didn't take theirs and we always felt a third goal would be required."
Heather St Johns duly pulled a goal back through Andre Gonzales and then levelled after substitute Simeon Colbourne intercepted an under-strength back header to leave Studley clinging on for the draw.
It followed Studley's exit from the Worcester Senior Urn earlier in the week when losing out 2-1 to higher level Lye Town.
Studley didn't help themselves after having Luke Dugmore sent off for two yellow cards when the score was still 0-0.
As a result, Studley will look to get back on the winning trail this Saturday when they have an attractive home fixture against Ilkeston Town
