STUDLEY boss Keith Draper has wasted little time this summer in boosting his squad after the club pulled clear of the Midland League Division One relegation trap door last season.

Draper is determined to keep faith with the players that helped turn matters around last term but has already added several new recruits.

He has brought in former Redditch United goalkeeper Ryan Young, striker Andy Nicol who has switched from rivals Bromsgrove Sporting.

Wideman Will Tibbetts, who has also featured for Sporting in addition to West Midland League sides Dudley Sports and Cradley Town has arrived at Studley along with another former Cradley player, central defender Lewis Clarke.

Draper has also brought in striker David Yonwin, who has featured for a number of clubs including Lichfield City, Atherstone, Highgate United and Bolehall Swifts.

Young replaces Alvechurch loanee Bradley Carter who has returned to his parent club, while full back Jake Wicketts could be in doubt after damaging his knee ligaments while playing 5-a-side football.

Draper said: "I've not really lost anyone from last season. If the league had started after Christmas, we would have finished third in the table, such was our form during that period and I want to be fair to those players who got the club out of trouble."

Studley commence pre-season training next Tuesday, June 27 and kick-off their friendly campaign on July 9 with a trip to United Counties League side Long Buckby who are based in Northamptonshire.

Other friendlies include games against Northfield Town, Boldmere St Michaels, Fairfield Villa, Cradley Town and an Alvechurch XI.
