JOE Leach is delighted with Worcestershire Rapids performances in the Royal London One-Day Cup group stages and said: "We want to go to Lord's - and win it."

Leach has skippered the Rapids to their first semi-final in 13 years - a home clash with either Yorkshire Vikings or Surrey on June 17.

He is full of praise for the way all members of the squad have played their part in topping the North Group but is hoping the Rapids can make further strides in the competition.

Leach said: "I can't speak highly enough about how this group of players has gone about the group stages.

"I just said to them if it wasn't for yours truly we would have won seven out of eight after screwing up that last over at Northampton.

"I am really, really proud but still looking forward to that semi-final and hopefully beyond.

"It's brilliant for the club to get a home semi-final and great for us as a group of players.

"Hopefully we will have a packed out New Road on June 17.

"But we want to win it. We are a focused group and we want to go to Lord's and win it, definitely.

"I said before the season that we had a good chance, we are a good side and hopefully that bears fruit."

Leach added: "Everyone has played a part and that is key isn't it. If you are going to win a competition, you are going to need 11, 12, 13, probably 14 people and all of them have contributed at some point in the group stage.

"To do that shows strength in depth and the quality we have got in the squad first and foremost.

"It shows the belief we've got that different people can get us out of different situations at any given time."
