REDDITCH Borough will keep pushing for an historic treble “until the very end” according to manager Julian Workman.

Borough sealed their place in a second final of the season as a deadly double from defender Jamie Hatfield sandwiched popular frontman Rob Bruce’s maiden strike in a 3-1 Evesham Hospital Junior Cup semi-final win at Fairfield.

That followed hot on the heels of Midland League officials rubber stamping their berth in the Les James Challenge Cup showpiece at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium a couple of days prior to the Fairfield tie.

Then, another strike for Bruce, doubles for Hatfield and Billy Garvey and one for Garrath Hodgetts saw off Barnt Green Spartak 6-1 as Redditch made it nine league wins in a row and maintained their late push for the top two on Tuesday.

Coupled with a 0-0 draw for second-placed Alvis at Smithswood Firs on Monday, Workman's charges trail by one-point having played two more matches.

Next up for Borough is a home clash with Smithswood on Saturday (3pm, at Littleton FC) and the boss believes his players will leave nothing in the dressing room during their pursuit of glory.

“To reach two finals is excellent,” said Workman. “The way the lads have knuckled down, learned about this level week by week and established themselves at the top end has been brilliant to see.

“The players deserve all the credit and they have shown a lot of pride in playing for the club. Towards the end of the season, we have got results against the best this division has to offer.

“We might not be in pole position for a top-two place but I know the boys will battle until the very end in trying to finish as high as possible and that is all any manager can ask for.

“We always wanted to have a right go having stepped up to this level this season and while I had a lot of faith in the ability we have here, to have a chance of two lots of silverware and to be challenging in the league has to be seen as a massive achievement.

"Now, it is all about getting as much reward as we can from our hard work."
