BRYCE Heem has been hit with a two-week suspension following his “reckless” red card in Worcester Warriors’ 40-33 loss at Wasps.

The wing pleaded guilty for tackling the jumper in the air at an RFU disciplinary hearing in Bristol yesterday.

The ban rules Heem out of Warriors’ trip to Sale Sharks on Friday, April 7 and their home clash against Bath on Saturday, April 15.

Heem was sent off by referee Luke Pearce in the sixth minute of the second half after bringing down Wasps player Willie Le Roux.

The RFU's disciplinary panel, which comprised of Gareth Graham (chairman), Mike Curling and John Vale, said: “The panel deemed that the actions of Heem were reckless and in part affected by the running line of Wasps number 13.

“Notwithstanding this, the player accepted his actions merited the award of a red card and the panel, having heard direct evidence from Wasps’ Willie Le Roux, found this was a low end entry point.”

Heem is free to play again from Tuesday, April 18.
