VERSATILE Worcester Warriors back Josh Adams says his first Aviva Premiership start against Exeter Chiefs three months ago was “a bit of an experience”.

The 21-year-old played the full 80 minutes and scored a try as the rampant Chiefs powered to a 57-22 victory at Sandy Park.

But the former Wales Under 20 international is hoping Warriors have learned from their November debacle.

And Adams says Warriors “owe them” in tomorrow’s match at Sixways (3pm).

“We would like to say we owe them for that (defeat in November),” recalled Adams, who will be playing at full-back.

“That was my first Premiership start  and it was a bit of an experience obviously but I picked up a try which was nice.

"Exeter played some really good rugby (that day) and almost beat European giants Clermont at Sandy Park so they are a match for anyone down there.”

Swansea-born Adams is a former Llanelli Scarlets youngster and has scored eight tries in 17 appearances for Warriors in all competitions this term.

Warriors picked up a precious 24-18 victory against Saracens last Saturday.

Adams believes Worcester will have to “raise the bar again” for the visit of the Chiefs who they not beaten in nine Premiership fixture..

“We have to step up,” said Adams.

“Sarries was an excellent performance and you could argue they were off their game a little bit.

“We have to take it to another level now. Exeter are a different threat.

“They offer a bit more in open play and run the ball a bit more so we have to be on our mettle out wide and raise the bar again.”

Adams added: “The support we had for the last game was fantastic.

“If we can get that same support and the supporters get behind us then we really have a chance of getting one over on Exeter.”
