KINGS Norton Seconds were dealt a narrow 14-10 defeat by Bournville Thirds in a Worcester and Hereford Merit Table match.

Although Kings had won their first encounter back in September by 19-7, it was clear Bournville were determined to even the score.

Bournville pounced on a loose King's pass after four minutes to sprint clear and score a converted try.

Kings responded with Edd Fogg scoring close to the posts only to see the conversion go astray.

Although Kings piled on the pressure, they were continually repelled until finally Fenn finished off a forward drive to crash over and give his side a slender 10-7 lead at the break.

Both sides defended well in the second half but Bournville sealed victory following a superb forward drive.

Kings return to league action this Saturday with a trip to bottom side Keresley.

Next Wednesday night, January 25, The Guanos return to Hopwood Park when they take on Kings Norton Vets (7.30pm).
