BAD weather caused disruption and cancellations for football teams in Reddich and south Warwickshire this weekend.

Shakespeare Studley played their match on a different pitch in the Premier Division however they couldn't find their first point after SCC Redolence beat them 4-2.

Redditch Town beat VKL Utd 2-1 seeing manager Chris Adams score their two goals. Sam Osmond was on the score sheet again for VKL.

In the Pat Sanders Cup, third place Golden Cross beat top place CBH Fasteners 5-4 on penalties after the game was left at 4-4 at full time.

The game was entertaining, CBH took an early lead before Golden Cross scored twice. Late in the first half CBH equalised. CBH had the better of the second half and with 15 minutes left they took the lead with a Sean Parish header. Golden Cross managed to dig deep to turn it around with two Mark Wilkes goals making the score 4-3. In the dying seconds of the match CBH found another equaliser to make it 4-4 at the referees final whistle. Rhys Whitehorse scored the final penalty for Golden Cross securing their place in the next round of this Cup.

Next Saturday VKL United will hold their third annual charity game at Valley Stadium, Redditch, in remembrance of Vinay Kishor Ladwa who died in 2013. This match will be against Shakespeare Studley and will kick off at 6.30pm.
