STUDLEY lost interest in this season's FA Vase after crashing out 3-2 against a well organised Chelmsley Town side who were reduced to 10 men just before half time.

Prior to the game, Studley boss Kevin Kingham rang the changes in the wake of last week's heavy 6-1 league defeat ironically to Chelmsley as well.

He brought in goalkeeper Shaun Edwards from Pershore Town, right back Keith Draper from Cadbury, Black Country Rangers midfield man Scott Stevenson and Ashley Churchill who has returned to football following a hernia operation.

Chelmsley twice led but Studley struck back to level on both occasions through a couple of well taken Connoll Farrell goals.

Try as they might, Studley couldn't break down Chelmsley's well drilled defence in the second half.

Chelmsley then clinched their passage into the next round with a stunning 30 yard free kick from former Studley player Gaz Turner.

Kingham said: "It was a much better performance than the previous week. Chelmsley have already had several players sent off this season and are well used to playing with 10 men."

Kingham expects to have more new signings in place ahead of Saturday's home contest with Stafford Town.

Busy Kingham is also on the lookout for an assistant manager after Dean Farrington had to step down.
