FECKENHAM continued their impressive start to the 2016 cricket season with a comprehensive win over high flying Wormelow.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat, The Millers got off to a shaky start, losing opener Daniel Bloomer for a single run.

However, a series of steady partnerships, including a stand of 86 between Jamie Griffiths and Josh Stacey (26) put Feckenham in a commanding position at 162-4.

Griffiths went on to make his third first team hundred off just 106 balls before eventually falling for 101.

Powerful lower order hitting from captain Jamie Reddish (21 off 12 balls), Mitch Douglas (30no off 27) and Tom Coulson (27 off 14) meant that Feckenham posted an above par score of 269 from their 50 overs.

Wormelow never got going in their run chase and collapsed to 92 all out after just 23 overs.

Tom Coulson picked up 4-33 and was ably supported by Matt Henning who finished with figures of 3-15 as the hosts couldn’t deal with the swinging ball.

Captain Jamie Reddish said: "This has been two comprehensive victories in a row now and I feel we are in really good form.

"It’s great to see our young batting line up converting the 50s into 100s and our bowling attack is dismissing teams for low scores. The fielding was also exceptional today and that makes a real difference to the team.’’

The result moves unbeaten Feckenham up to third place in the league as they look forward to entertaining mid table Bromyard to Mill Lane this Saturday.
