ANDY Robinson has called out the best middleweight fighters in the country.
The Redditch puncher, nicknamed ‘D’Animal’, who won the Midlands super middleweight title last year, has dropped down a weight division and is keen to land a big shot at a title.
He had hoped to score a fight with Midlands rival Tommy Langford but those thoughts faded after he set up a clash against Lewis Taylor for the vacant European title.
Robinson’s record is impressive with just one defeat in 17 professional fights and he earned a great deal of respect for his rugged display against Frank Buglioni.
He had hoped a drop down in weight division would bolster his chances of glory but he’s suffered a frustrating few months.
He said: “People are avoiding me. They look at their my record and know I am big threat.
“But I will fight the best in the middleweight division, Tommy Langford, Billy Joe Saunders, Dan Blackwell or Chris Eubank JR, they don’t scare me.
“All I can do is get my head down, keep winning fights and I will get my reward.”
Current WBO middleweight champion Saunders is reportedly eyeing up a fight against either Gennady Golovkin or Eubank. He’s got a six-round clash against an as yet unnamed opponent at Bedworth Civic Hall on Saturday, February 20.
Robinson added: “I should change my name because they are all scared of fighting me.”
