MANAGER Liam McDonald says Jamey Osborne is happy at Redditch United but he has not ruled out the gifted midfielder leaving the club.

The highly-rated playmaker, who is contracted to United until the end of the season, is thought to be interesting a host of clubs.

But he is set to remain and help the Reds in their pursuit of promotion from the Southern League Premier after the transfer window closed.

McDonald says, however, that the club remain in talks with several Football League clubs and he could move if a deal can be agreed.

McDonald said: “Jamey is happy here and wants to well for the club.

“We’ve been speaking with several Football League clubs and even though the window has shut, a move could still happen.

“We would never stand in a player’s way if he has a chance to move on to a higher level but he’s still a Redditch player and we’re glad to have him here.”

Meanwhile, United were frustrated as their home clashes against Poole and Frome were called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Redditch are fifth in the Southern League Premier but have games in hand over all the teams above them.

They will be hoping to get back into action at ninth-placed King’s Lynn on Saturday (kick-off 3pm), followed by a home clash against Dunstable on Monday (7.45pm) McDonald said: “I am not a huge fan of games in hand. It means that you have to change your plans in the short term and it is disruptive.

“Overall, it doesn’t matter because you still have to play 46 league games and we will tailor our preparations to the fixture changes. We were ready for Poole but it is just one of those things.”
