Chippenham Town 0, Redditch United 3

Redditch United extended their unbeaten league run to six matches with three second half goals at Chippenham Town to sustain their promotion push and go second in the table.

Goals from Ashley Sammons, Luke Shearer and Max Loveridge ensured the Reds now trail Evo-Stik Southern League Premier leaders Leamington on goal difference alone.

As the home side tired in the second half, the pace and trickery of left winger Shearer proved decisive as he had a hand in two of the goals, adding to his own tally to make it three in three for the former Alvechurch man.

Staunch defensive displays reduced either side to several tame efforts on goal apiece until the 56th minute.

It was then that George Carline headed on Jose Veiga’s goalkick for skipper Daniel Dubidat to control and juggle three times before lofting a pass over the Chippenham back line for Sammons who got the better of Scott Bevan and steered his shot into the far corner.

Chippenham lacked quality in attack as James Mutton and Will Richards continued to clear any danger throughout the second period.

The tireless Shearer made his biggest impression in the 68th minute when he was brought down in the box in the midst of a jinking run. He picked himself up and calmly slotted the subsequent penalty away and the match was over.

Loveridge wrapped things up eight minutes from the end, latching on to a Shearer pass before steering the ball past Kent Kauppinen from six yards out.
