HOCKEY: Redditch Men came through their toughest test of the season in the West Midlands Division One with a 1-1 draw at fellow high-flyers Stafford.
Both teams began the game strongly but it was the King - fishers who were first to strike.
Midfielder Jacob Beard threaded the ball through to Harry Capewell, whose push took a deflection off a Staf - ford defender and crept past the keeper.
Redditch continued to sus - tain pressure throughout the first half and chances for Beard and Richard Sellors were kept out by the Stafford keeper.
Stafford battled back into the game and a quick coun - ter-attack gifted them the equaliser.
The score ended 1-1, with Redditch continuing their unbeaten run and sustaining second place in the league only by goal difference.
They face Yardley away on November 7.
