REDDITCH Men continued there winning run by beating Droitwich Spa in their second match of the season at home in Midlands Division One.

Harry Capewell opened the scoring in the first half for the Kingfisher with a well-worked team goal ending with an accurate finish.

The second half brought more chances for Redditch and this time they were far more clinical, with last week’s man of the match Daniel Waite scoring first, followed by another goal from skipper Pete Dawson.

Spa began to look more dangerous, but never really challenged the hosts despite the Kingfishers being down to ten men in parts of the game.

This was mainly due to the excellent defence displayed by this week’s man of the match Adrian Young.

Redditch finished with a flourish as Capewell scored a second and narrowly missed out on bagging a hat-trick, when his superb skill and strike beat both the defenders and the keeper only to hit the post and shoot across the face of goal.

Redditch face Oswestry away this weekend.

The Badgers were away to Stourport on Saturday and captained by Eugene Reed.

The young side struggled to managed the experience of Stourport Badgers and by half-time were trailing 3-0.

But Redditch bounced back impressively after a quick team talk and player shuffle.

The young side managed to get on the score sheet with two fine strikes from Sean McCaughey, to make the score 3-2.

Redditch continued to pile on pressure with Alfie Wheeler going close.

Ben Cattell managed to slot the ball home to make the score 3-3 but Stourport weren’t about to sit back and continued to work the ball from left to right. It was all too much in the end with Stourport;s forwards finishing well to seal a 6-4 defeat.

The seconds’ winning start to the season continued with a well deserved 2-1 victory over Droitwich, with goals for Connor Adams and Ben Husbands.

Ladies suffered their first loss of the season as they went down 4-1 to Harborne.
