MANAGER Liam McDonald says he is totally focused on his job at Redditch United as he prepares for a top six clash at Poole on Saturday.

McDonald has been linked with the vacant head coach's job at Kidderminster Harriers, after Gary Whild and Tim Flowers left the Vanarama National League club.

But the Reds boss has stressed he is only interested on continuing his good work for United and the club have said there has been no interest from their Worcestershire rivals.

"My only focus is on doing a good job for Redditch United and nothing else," said McDonald.

"I have been linked with the job but Kidderminster have not been in contact and there's nothing in it.

"I take is as a compliment that the good work we are doing at the club has attracting interest but that's all it is."

Meanwhile, the Reds are flying high in fourth place in the Southern League Premier after five wins in a row.

Last night's home clash against St Neots was postponed because the Cambridge outfit have an FA Cup replay at home to Worthing on Tuesday.

On Saturday, a youthful Reds side exited the Red Insure Cup on penalties at the hands of Aylesbury.

Luke Shearer had fired the home side into the lead but Luke Bewley had levelled, before the away team won the shoot-out 4-3.

McDonald said: "I decided to look at one or two of the younger guys.

"But we'll have a whole week to prepare for what is a tough game. Poole are the favourites to win promotion, it's not going to be easy."

The manager confirmed that Jordan Archer has joined Bedworth United.

A summer signing from Tividale, Archer struggled to cement a regular spot in the team and fell down the pecking order behind Daniel Dubidat and, Jamie Molyneux and Shearer.

Redditch, who go to Chesham next Tuesday, are looking at Northfield Town goal-getter Jason Cowley.
