REDDITCH Entaco were held to a losing draw by Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social despite dominating in the first game of the Worcestershire League Division One.

The Kingfishers started Redditch started positively, with Waqas Ali taking a wicket in his first over.

Oldswinford struggled with the bat and slipped to 89-5 but Tom Blunt and Phil Croft added 50 for the sixth wicket to thwart the Redditch bowlers.

Croft continued to flourish adding another 50 runs and also reached a well deserved half-century as Oldswinford edged towards 200.

Ali cleaned up the tail to finish with 4-50 off 16 overs, while Greg Chinn (3-49) and overseas Joe Scarcella (2-46) chipped in.

In reply, Scarcella and Tom Field and soon racked up a half-century opening partnership before the former departed for a quickfire 24.

Southwick and Field continued to flourish but Redditch lost momentum after a run out and they finished of 169-8.

They will be hoping for a better performance when Droit-wich are the visitors on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the seconds scored 360-6 against Rushwick, with Liam Phelan scoring 169 runs.

Rushwick hit back by reaching 194-9 as Redditch earned a winning draw.
