LUKE Davies says Redditch Entaco CC will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2014 in style this year.

The Kingfishers head into the new season in the Worcestershire League Division One with a host of new recruits, looking to put last year's bottom half of the table finish behind them.

Redditch, who start the campaign at Oldswinford SS, have welcomed Australia seam bowler Joe Scarcella, Andy Elleray, who has recently moved into the area, and wicketkeeper Adam Towzer.

Former skipper Perry Derrick has also confirmed he will play for Redditch again when he returns from Australia but Chris Weaver has returned to Australia for a year.

Davies said: "We had a very disappointing season last year so our main aim is to improve on that.

"Ideally we're aiming for a top five finish so we'll see how it goes.

"Most importantly, we've got to improve our home form if we are to do that because it wasn't great last year.

"We were good away from home last year, so that is an area we can build on."

Redditch's build-up to the new season saw them beat Worcester well and lost to Kenilworth on Saturday.

Davies added: "It's important we get off to a strong start but it will take a month or so behind we know how we're doing."
