DROITWICH Spa kept their chase for the Midlands Division Two's top half with a hard fought win over Feckenham.

James Ward pounced on the stroke half-time to settle a game where the Millers were content to sit back and defend.

But a fifth straight win ensured Spa cemented tenth spot and they are hot on the heels of the top eight.

Joint manager Wayne Oliver said: "It was a scrappy game, Feckenham came and sat back and asked us to break them down.

"We could have scored more goals but it was a good win.

"We'd love to finish in the top half of the season. Considering where the team were when Mark and I took over the players have done very well.

"Over the last 20 games we are second in the form table.

"Our away form is up with the best of them in the division but what is interesting is that our home is note quite as good.

"We set up the team the same way home and away so we're scratching our heads."

Meanwhile, Droitwich go to eighth-placed Earlswood Town on Saturday, who have three games in hand on Spa.

Mark Burrows is set to miss the rest of the season because of family commitments, while James Lemon is absent for the Earlswood clash because of a holiday.
