REDDITCH HDA’s A team made an impressive defence of the Junior Tennis Cup as they took on all comers in pool D.

All four teams from the club were playing in the group but the new-look pairing of Harvery Ravenscroft and Scott Mortimer were in good form as the A side defeated club-mates from the C side 6-1, D team 6-1 and E line-up 6-0.

Paulina Jurkowska and Latesha Grant for HDA C beat HDA D 6-1 and HDA E 6-0.

Finally, HDA D duo Kiyyah Grant and Jasmine Bwaii beat HDA E couple Greg Cook and Aaron Bwaii 6-2.

The competition is for teams of 12-years-old and under and takes the format of five pools of four teams who each take it in turn to host a group each month over the summer between March and June.

Pools are played on a round robin basis, followed by a play-offs night between the winning teams from each of the four leagues, which will be held at Littletons Tennis Club on July 1. The top two sides will then go on to a full match cup final to be played at The Henley in Arden Tennis Club on Sunday, September 6.

HDA B are second in pool B after losing to Henley A.

But Joe Hollier and Owen Perry bounced back to beat Henley B 6-2 and Alcester 6-1.

Henley B pair James Price and Alex Didlick claimed third by beating Adam Haerle and Luke Clemons of Alcester 6-0.
