ALVECHURCH manager Lee Knight his hoping young guns Reis Woolley and Joel Ambalu can find their best form.

Originally a native of Texas, Woolley bagged a last minute leveller as Church showed spirit to battle back to draw 2-2 at Continental Star.

Ambalu, 20, is a product of West Bromwich Albion’s youth academy and has played for Dudley Town and Redditch United this season.

With Gareth Evans set to be sidelined for a week by a groin strain, the pair are set for a run in the side.

Knight said: “Reis is someone I had at Studley a few years ago, he was always very technically gifted but a bit slight but he’s definitely grown up a lot more.

“He’s from Texas and played football in college and he’s very good technically.

“His goal was excellent, one touch and then fired a shot into the bottom corner.

“Joel is another promising young lad. He was very highly-rated at Albion but it didn’t work out and hopefully he will do well for us.”

Alvechurch were left kicking their heels on Saturday after their home clash against title-chasing Long Eaton was postponed because of a water logged pitch. The game has been rescheduled for next Tuesday (7.45pm ko).

Church, who were to take on Stourport Swifts on Tuesday, tackle leaders Basford United away on Saturday (3pm ko).

Knight said: “We were disappointed not to be playing.

“We had shown spirit to get a point and ended a bad run but now we face two sides going for the title in a row.”
