REDDITCH men’s second team suffered a 5-1 loss at the hands of West Bromwich.
Although West Brom looked better drilled and more dynamic in the early stages, the Kingfishers battled well to ensure the game was a well fought contest.
West Brom had a goal over-turned by the umpires and Reddich hit back and saw Povey denied by the keeper.
Chances were few and far between, but the hosts pressed and were awarded a penalty corner which Baker struck, bringing a good save from the West Brom keeper who injured himself in the process.
But the Black Country side re-jigged their formation and got the better of Redditch.
West Brom opened their account with a penalty corner and then doubled their lead with some neat interplay between their youthful attackers allowing a forward to slot in from a tight angle.
They were soon 4-0 up before Haslam pulled a goal back but West Bromwich added a fifth strike late on.
