Fencer's success earns international call-up
ALEX Powell will represent England in March after receiving an international call-up on Christmas Eve.
The Redditch teenager (pictured above) will be part of an England team competing at an under-15s overseas tournament.
She earned the selection after a fine 2014, where she was crowned British under-14s and English under-15s champion during the summer.
The standard at both these competitions was extremely high, with fencers from all around the country including a number of established internationals. The Woodrush High School fought her way through both the pools and the direct elimination fights to win overall, guaranteeing her selection.
