Coventry Welsh 17, Redditch 13

REDDITCH slipped up on their travels to Coventry in a frustrating encounter that resulted in a solitary bonus point.

The Kingfishers started brightly down the slope with winger James Roberts making an impressive debut with some strong running and tackling.

The hosts struck first though as their own pacy winger cut infield and had the legs to go in under the posts.

Redditch hit back immediately, but at the cost of their scrum half Ben Stanyard, who injured himself at a scrum.

Lewis Saddington found enough space out wide to score a second try. A further penalty from Josh Holt gave Redditch the lead by six points going into half-time.

But Welsh hit back with two tries after the break.
