REDDITCH race ace Chris Girdler has enjoyed a fine season on the track after winning his class in the Toyota Sprint Championship.

It was the second successive year he has clinched the C-Pro Class title.

Girdler also managed to finish in the Series’ overall top ten, despite coming up against much higher powered cars.

The Church Hill resident sealed his success in the final round at Rockingham earlier in the month.

A very wet and slippery start to the day coupled with a new geometry, wider wheels and tyres meant Girdler how to drive the car all over again.

The car will undergo a series of power upgrades over the winter to move me up into a forced induction class next year.

The Toyota Sprint Series is designed to be an affordable first step into Motorsport for Toyota enthusiasts.

Venues are chosen for their safety and track layouts are designed to test the driver and car ability.

All runs are timed against the clock, with different classes covering a wide range of machinery from completely standard cars to highly modified. There is something for everyone, from cars in excess of 25 years old being joined by the latest GT86’s.
