STUDLEY manager Adrian Mander believes striker Joshua McKenzie is back to his best after he hit golden form over the last week.

The powerhouse striker made it 16 goals for the season, with five in the last two games.

He blasted a brace in last Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Racing Club Warwick and followed it up with a hat-trick as the Bees saw off Cadbury Athletic 4-3 in the Midlands Football League Division One on Saturday.

McKenzie returned to football after a three-year ban, following an incident while playing for Redditch United against Chesham.

“Josh looked a little rusty when he returned but all he needed was to play games and he’s now playing very well,” commented Mander.

“Obviously, when a player is scoring a lot of goals other clubs notice but I am hoping the fact we gave him a way back into football means something.

“He’s certainly enjoying it at Studley and the team is doing well at the moment.”

Mander has also brought in former Coventry Copsewood manager Kevin Kingham to be his joint boss while he copes with a busy period at work.

“I have a lot on at work at the moment, so I wanted to bring somebody in who can share the load,” said the Studley boss.

“He’s got a lot of experience and will be a very useful addition.”

Studley, who were set to entertain Atherstone last night, go to Heather St Johns in the Midlands Football League on Saturday (3pm ko).
