KINGS Norton Golf Club won the West Midlands League final at Handsworth GC for the first time since the competition started in 1967.
In a repeat of last year’s final, Norton saw off defending champions Swindon by half a point, 3.5-3.0.
The journey to the final consisted of 14 league games to finish third in the zone, with 17 points from a possible 28 to qualify for the knock-out stages.
The knock-out stages were on a home and away basis and Kings defeated Enville, Druids Heath and Dudley to reach the final.
Kings Norton results — Ladies Final Stableford: Silver Division: 1 Sue Yau 36 points; 2 Carol White 35; Bronze Division: 1 Vicky Turner 30 points; 2 Tina Miller 30.
