LIAM McDonald is poised to bolster Redditch United's attacking options.

The manager is well aware that with Jermaine Hylton still recovering from a groin injury and Jamie Molyneux sidelined for three months with a fractured ankle he needs to add some fire power.

McDonald was set to run the rule over two potential new additions last night in a training game against the reserves.

Redditch had been set to play Paulton Rovers in the Southern League Premier on Tuesday but the game will be rescheduled because of their FA Cup replay against Gloucester.

United have already drafted in Jordan Cullinane-Liburd from Alvechurch and have put reserve team forward Demari Wisdom on first team terms after he caught the manager's eye.

McDonald said: "We'll hoping to add a couple of forwards.

"We're missing Jamie and Jermaine at the moment, although Jermaine should be back in about two weeks all being well.

"The players we're looking at follow our model, they are young, quick and have got a lot of ability and potential.

"Demari Wisdom has also caught my eye. He's quick and strong and an exciting prospect and I am looking forward to working with him.

"The reserves play the same system as the first team so that should also help him settle in.

"We have budget which we have to work within."

The squad took part in a training session on Saturday because Redditch had been knocked out of the FA Cup by Evesham United.

They returned to action in the league on Saturday when they entertain fourth-placed Weymouth on Saturday (3pm ko).

Max Loveridge and Ashley Sammons commence three-game and two-match suspensions respectively this weekend.

United have not won a game in the league since beating Hereford since the end of August and are looking to get back on track.

"The fans have been excellent," said McDonald.

"Even when things haven't gone to plan the supporters have been behind the team and that makes a difference."
