Woodrush 26, Bedworth 19

WOODRUSH produced started the Midlands Division Three West (South) with a win.

Rush produced a strong display to get their league campaign up and running.

The hosts opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Andy Poole touched down, while Steve Smart added the extras.

Anton Taylor then raced half the length of the pitch, to touch down after good work by Dan Lavander.

Bedworth started to influence the game with their huge back but could only manage a single try as Rush went into half-time with a 14-5 lead.

John Board added a third score early in the second half and Ed Gardiner a fourth to secure a bonus point for the home side.

Bedworth pulled back two tries late on but could not prevent their Rush’s victory.

Woodrush face the title chasing Old Wheatleyans on Saturday in what will be a fascinating encounter and another great challenge for the green and whites.
