REDDITCH United manager Liam McDonald is to  have another look at trialist Elias Katsoloudi.

The midfielder caught the eye of the Reds boss in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Gosport Borough.

Both he and fellow player Leo Athanangelou are been hopefuls at The Valley Stadium and have impressed for clubs who compete in the KOPA Cypriot Football League based in London.

McDonald said: “I thought Elias came on and showed what he’s about. He’s a skilful player and has a lot of flair and I would like to take another look at him.

“Nothing concrete may well happen because he lives down south and Redditch can’t afford to pay for his travelling costs.”

United continued to impress during pre-season.

Jermaine Hylton bagged the winner as United saw off Boldmere St Michaels last Thursday, while Jamie Molyneux was on target on Saturday as the Reds saw off newly-promoted Gosport Borough 1-0 in a thoroughly professional display.

McDonald said: “I thought we produced an outstanding display against Gosport.

“We looked solid and there are a number of players who are impressing me.

“Dan Scarr and Jim Mutton are looking very good in central defence and Max Loveridge has been excellent in central midfield.

“There are areas to be worked on in terms of team shape which we will improve upon but overall it was a good display.”

United were left without a friendly last night after the home clash against African national side Guinea Bissau fell through.

Redditch though face a good test on Saturday against Solihull Moors (3pm ko) and complete the pre-season programme next Tuesday at home to Cheltenham (7.45pm ko).
