STUDLEY have bolstered their defence with the addition of two centre backs.

Bees boss Paul Smith has secured the services of Blackwood defender Toby Checketts and Bromsgrove Sporting's versatile Dan Morris, who can also play at right back.

The pair are just two of eight players currently training with Studley hoping to secure new deals.

Smith said: "Toby is a very highly-rated defender from the area and Dan is someone we've wanted for a while.

"He was one of Sporting's most consistent players last season so we're delighted to have him on board too.

"It has been a good summer so far and the players we wanted to keep from last season overall we've held onto.

"There are also eight more players who hopefully I can sort sign as well."

Captain Sam Wills has ignored overtures from several other clubs to remain at the Bees, while Jake Wilcox and player of the season Ben Judd have re-signed.

Reece Hewitt has also committed himself for next season in the Midland Division One.

Meanwhile, striker Charisma Agbonlahor has moved to local rivals Alvechurch, who are playing in the Premier Division - formerly the Midland Alliance.

Smith added: "I believe Charisma was offered a very good deal, so we wish him well at Alvechurch."

Studley step up their preparations for the 2014-15 season with their first pre-season against Perry Wood on the 3G pitch on Saturday (4pm ko).
