ALCESTER enjoyed a 3-1 win over Littleton in the Wildmoor Spa Tennis League Premier Division.

Overall it was a good week for the Warwickshire side as they also draw with Henley 2-2.

In their first match of the week, a rain-postponed clash with Littleton, they won comfortably.

Then Alcester and Henley fought out an honourable 2-2 draw.

Tim Kenneally and Stuart Beach (Alcester) beat Brett MacKay and Dave Taylor (Henley) 7-6, 6-1 and also saw off Max Retallack and Craig Mander 6-1, 6-0.

Second pairing Jack Newbold and Duncan Robinson lost to Retallack and Mander 6-3, 6-4 and went down to MacKay and Taylor 7-5, 1-6, 0-1 (5-10).

Meanwhile, Inkberrow lost 3-1 to Littleton, with Matt Saunders and Graeme Rankin winning one match.

Division One leaders Studley A stay clear with their four-point lead after beating Aston Cantlow 3-1.

Pershore keep the chase on in second as they beat Studley B by the same 3-1 score and are on 11 points.

Snitterfield matched this 3-1 victory with one of their own over bottom team Shipston-on-Stour.

This result lifted them to equal third with Studley B on eight points.

There were only two matches in Division Two as the clash between Whitnash and HDA A was rained off.

Bidford A moved clear in third following their 3-1 home win over HDA A.

In Division Three, Inkberrow B moved into second place, a point behind, thanks to a 4-0 victory over previous leaders FISSC of Stratford.

Division Four saw Alcester C battle out a 2-2 draw with HenleyB.

Finally, in Division Five, Pershore B lead on 16, one point ahead of Inkberrow C, with HDA B in third on 13.

This was despite Pershore being held to a 2-2 draw by Moreton-in-Marsh B as Inkberrow C had no fixture this week.

Redditch side HDA B walloped Bidford-on-Avon B 4-0 and stay three points clear of fourth-placed Moreton B. Studley C had no match.
