REDHILL Archers showed that they were a force to be reckoned with when they finished just five points behind Evesham in Team Trophy category in Wyre Forest on Sunday.

Sheila Harris comfortably retained the Trophy for the Ladies Compound section scoring 838 out of 864.

Her husband David clinched the longbow trophy event, beating his nearest competitor by 30 points.

In in the Ladies Recurve, Betsy Johnson finished in second place just six points behind Linda Haines, who is an associate member of the club as well as Evesham.

In the gents recurve section, Neill Garratt won first class, while Richard Harris scored 818 in the compound section. Paul Johnson and Gordon Phillips shot improved scores in the recurve.

The Harris’ and Johnson and have been competing for a combined total of 131 years, and all are between 60 and 70 years old.
