Runner thrills in Paris contest

JULIE Wedgbury did Redditch-based Arrow Valley running club proud at the Paris Marathon on Sunday.

She joined around 50,000 participants to complete her first marathon in an impressive time of four hours, one minute and 24 seconds.

Five members of the club stayed closer to home and completed the Leamington Regency Run.

Rachel Winch (56-13), Julie Brown (59-32), Barbara Moran (60-51), Karan Bridge (63-30) and Maureen Bateman (64-33) achieved fantastic times at this 10 kilometre distance run.

A spokesman for the club said: “We are delighted with the recent achievements from all members of the club and we look forward to celebrating the successes of our newer club members as they complete their first events.”
