THE year five and six swimming team from Walkwood Middle School have made a splash in recent weeks.

The team showed great spirit, hard work and determination in the pool at Kingsley College to come first in the district swimming gala.

There were strong performances by Libby Waldron, Lizzie Kingham, Jasmine Carter, Jess Mowat, Kiyyah Grant, Freddie Gibson, George Skelton, Aaron Woodfield, Josh Greaves, Zac George, Matthew Stanley and Isaac Hill, who will now go on to compete in the school summer games on Tuesday, June 24.

Teacher Katie Reeves said: “It was a great effort by all the students, who demonstrated spirit, hard work and determination to become district champions.”
