REDDITCH businessman Peter Jewell wants to encourage the next generation of cricketers in Worcestershire.

Jewell, who is the chairman of the British and Commonwealth Cricket Trust, has organised a youth cricket day at Redditch CC on Tuesday, April 22, which is open to all girls and boys under the age of 18.

Lunch will be provided for players and families are also welcome to attend.

There will also be players from Worcestershire CC on hand to pass on their expertise.

Jewell said: “The youth are the future of Redditch and we must do everything to help them succeed.”

He is also hoping to use his international and British business connections to find further investment.

Anyone interested in the cricket camp, which runs 9am to 4.30pm, can book by calling Ryan D’Oliveira on 01905 337944 or by emailing ryan.d’oliveira@wccc.co.uk.
