GIRLS teams from St Bede’s Catholic Middle School excelled at the Worcestershire School Games.

The Year Eight indoor athletics team of Tasmin Palmer, Sarah Kennedy, Orla Lewis, Lucy Jackson, Katelyn O’Connor and Daisy Grainger emerged victorious.

The Year Seven netball side consisting of Alice Rogers, Carissa Palmeri, Isabelle Rooke, Jessie Notley, Erin Hitchen, Olivia Cole, Romaya Warburton and Aoife Woodcock finished third to secure bronze.

More than 750 children from schools across Worcestershire came together to take part.

The Games were organised by The Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire and primarily funded by Sport England.

The youngsters represented both their school and their cluster in the School Games, with the county divided into the six districts of Redditch, North Worcestershire, Droitwich and Worcester City, South Worcestershire, Worcestershire West and Wyre Forest.

Ridgeway Middle School won the under-11 Girls sports hall athletics, while the Year Seven girls from Ridgway finished fifth.

In the Boys, there was a third place for Woodfield Academy Middle School.

Alvechurch Middle School saw their boys finish third in the Year Seven athletics.

In the boccia, Walkwood Middle School were runners-up.
